GNCC to announce decision on increasing natural gas price in two months

Energy Minister does not exclude that the price for natural gas will rise, but Kakha Kaladze does not specify by how much gas tariff can be increased. Four energy companies have applied the regulatory commission, KazTransgazi, Chugorgasia and Gas Transportation Company habe been demanding increase of gas tariff from February. The GNCC will announce the decision at the beginning of summer.

Socar Georgia is waiting for the decision of the Executive Committee , the head of the Azerbaijan company in Tbilisi said that the reason for the increase in the tariff is GEL impairment.

The opposition criticizes the government for its wrong energy policy.

The regulatory commission has 5 months to review the application of 4 large companies. This term expires at the end of July. However, it is not excluded that the statement on gas price will be made earlier .
