The spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Tbilisi is underway in a question-answer mode. The delegates listened to the speeches delivered by the Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze and State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, asked questions about Russian occupation and media pluralism.
"There are many microphones here presenting media pluralistic environment, the assessments and opinions should not be biased and affect the image of the country and therefore I urge everyone to fully understand the formats and the messages," -said Janel Janelidze.
Representatives of the parliamentary opposition say that the head of the Foreign Ministry once again got himself in an awkward situation.
Opposition representatives criticized Mikheil Janelidze.
"Regarding Rustavi 2, he said -it is good that we can not control it, how good it is for our democracy when the audience knows that it is good that the government does not control Rustavi 2 yet and hopefully will not control The audience know very well that the government is trying to gain control over Rustavi 2, "- said the parliamentary fraction Member of European Georgia Giorgi Kandelaki.
Member of the political council of the United National Movement Giorgi Baramidze states that Mikheil Janelidze delivered to the delegates at the session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly wrong information about the independence of the judiciary, the existence of corruption and the lack of media pluralism.
"As he puts it there is no problem with Rustavi 2 at all and in general everything is perfect in this direction," - Giorgi Baramidze said.
We remind you that Georgia is the 5th non-NATO country where the NATO Parliamentary Assembly session is being held.
