We should not be afraid of Russia-NATO delegation member from Lithuania

The members of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation make statements in Tbilisi on the threats coming from the North and about Georgia`s Euro-Atlantic perspectives.The political and security committees of the Allianc are in session.

Representatives of the German delegation discussed the strategic importance of the Black Sea region and the special role of Georgia in this region.

"Georgia is one of the key players in the Black Sea region and I appreciate the contribution of the country to stabilizing the situation.The progress in the development of democracy in the country should also be noted that . It is worth appreciating those contactsthat the country is establishing with the people living in South Ossetia and Abkhazia, "- said Hull Schmidt, a German Bundestag MP.

Members of the Lithuanian delegation paid attention to the ongoing occupation in Georgia and threat from Russia.

"The main topic of discussion was Russia`s actions and elaboration of realistic approaches to this issue. The Kremlin attacks democracy not only in the countries that are located in neighboring countries, but in Western countries too. Appeals propaganda, politicians` bribing, spreading fake news and cyber attacks. We should not be afraid of Russia, it`s important because Putin wants us to live in fear. On the other hand, we should work out a clear strategy. It is clear that NATO countries woke up after the annexation of Crimea, "- said Rasa Yuknevichienne. 

First Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, Tamar Chugoshvili, member of the faction Georgian Dream, said that the participants of the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly stressed that Georgia does not need MAP for integration into NATO.
