The Patriarchate of Georgia disregards statements made by the Patriarch`s lawyer Edisher Karchava about the Metropolitan Petre Tsaava of Chkondidy. The statement was published on the official web page of the Patriarchate statement, which we offer unchanged:

"Recent statements of Mr. Edisher Karchava were not agreed with the Georgian Patriarchate.

The reason presented by him is serious, but it is wrong to make decisions independently and make personal initiative in public space.

The fact that some of the clergy violate the calls of the Catholicos-Patriarch and the Holy Synod and take part in TV programs without permission, is a subject of judgment, but such behavior is not justified for anyone, including Edisher Karchava , for which he was reprimanded .

We call on everyone to refrain from personal initiatives. "
