Afgan Mukhtarli`s Case - European Parliament"s Concern and Extraordinary Resolution to be Received next Week

European Parliamentarians are already working on the text of the draft resolution dealing with Azerbaijani journalist Apgan Mukhtarli`s case. Today, the ambassador of Georgia Natalie Sabanadze visited the European Parliament and held a face-to-face meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign Committee. David McCallier confirms this information with the courier.

"The meeting with the Ambassador was confidential. In general, I do not speak about the content of such meetings, but we discussed the issue of Azeri journalist. Political groups decided that this topic wil be included in the agenda of the next plenary session. Now we are working on the text of the resolution. I have not seen the document yet, but I will definitely get acquainted with it in the nearest future. Not only us but all political groups: Social Democrats, liberals and greens are really interested in what happened, "- said David McCallier.

Mukhtarli`s case is also addressed by MP Ana Gomez who says that the issue raises questions about the credibility of Georgia"s security service.
