President of Georgia met with NDI chairperson Madeleine Albright

The President of Georgia met with the former US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, the chairperson of the National Democratic Institute in Tbilisi.

Giorgi Margvelashvili hosted NDI delegation at dinner. The President thanked the guests for their visit to Georgia.

He talked about the contribution and significance of the National Democratic Institute in the country"s democratic development.

Madeleine Albright spoke about the current situation in Georgia.

"I am proud of the work done by the National Democratic Institute in Georgia. When we are asked what we do, how we help and understand the community of different countries, we always give Georgia as an example of a successful country that has gone through a lot of developments. We are also friends and we can talk openly about the difficulties that come together with democracy building process. How to maintain balance and rule of law, how important is the media`s role, reforming the constitution. Support of Georgia in Afghanistan and the common approach to cooperation between us is a confirmation of friendship and a true partnership, "- said Madeleine Albright.
