Company transporting Ivanishvili`s trees did not fulfill its obligation in Vere Gorge - 1 million is transferred, but the road is not built yet

Two years have passed since the 13th of Tbilisi tragedy. In 2015, the flooded river Vere and the landslide caused a disaster in Tbilisi - 23 dead and 2 people lost, homeless families, hundreds of millions of lari of damage. Destroyed infrastructure and zoo, dead animals.

The construction of the overhead road in Vere valley should have been carried out, however, the works have not yet started. The company Zimo, which should have built it up and is ivolved in transporting trees for the former Prime Minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, failed to fulfill its duties. It is known to the Courier that the Tbilisi City Hall transferred one million lari a year ago to build a new overpass on the Vake-Saburtalo road but nothing has been done yet.

The former Prime Minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, is responsible for the failure of the company to fulfill the obligation. The area where the road has to pass is owned by Ivanishvili and he refuses to give it to the Tbilisi City Hall.

However, the City Hall does not confirm this version and says that construction of the overpass has been postponed due to the existing trees until 2019.

The opposition blames the City Hall for embezzling another 1 million GEL and asks the Prosecutor`s Office to investigate the case.
