Emre Chabuk`s case and Amnesty International`s letter - Washington`s message to Georgian side

Soso Baratashvil`s lawyers` bureau received a letter from one of the most influential organizations in the world late last night. Amnesty International demands from the Georgian law enforcers not to extradite detained Mustafa Emre Chabuk to Turkey.

Mustafa Emre Chabuk, a representative of Demirel College, was detained by Georgian law enforcers on May 2 for supporting terrorism on the basis of an official request from Ankara. The Turkish side demands extradition of the prisoner to his homeland.

Soso Baratashvili told "Courier " that influential lawyers brought a message of Washington to Tbilisi. The American organization is demanding not to satisfy Turkey`s request.

Whether Mustafa Emre Chabuk will be granted a status of refugee or humanitarian status the Georgian government should decide on July 7.

The teachers of Demireli and other schools demand to free Chabuk. Thousands of signatures will be handed over to the government with the request to free Mustafa Emre Chabuk.
