The opposition responds to the negative evaluation of Gianni Buquicchio, the head of Venice Commission, on constitutional amendments. In their opinion, Buquicchio`s statement directly indicates that the majority received a radically different document in two hearings.

"The statement of Buquicchio that he is grieved means in Georgian that he has burried the constitution, which Parliament received in two hearings," said Roman Gotsiridze, chairman of the National Movement faction.

Giga Bokeria, the deputy leader of the parliamentary minority and member of the "European Georgia", believes that Gianni Buquicchio`s frustration is not surprising because the ruling team has damaged Georgia`s democratic process.

"You can not get the constitution when none of the parties, no party, no NGO has supported this," -Giga Bokeria said.

Member of the Georgian Dream faction, Nukri Kantaria, thinks that Gianni Buquicchio will understand the decision of the ruling team.

"When we explains the situation, I think he will understand this case because everyone knows that it was the interim option that was agreed upon with the majority and the draft constitution was not in danger," Nukri Kantaria said.
