The President of Venice Commission will hold the first meeting with the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia in Batumi today.

At the meeting which is scheduled at 10:00 am, Gianni Buquicchio will reiterate his negative attitude towards the postponement of the proportional elections till 2024.
The ruling team says that Gianni Buquicchio`s criticism was expected, but "Georgian Dream" defends its position and states that the parliamentary majority managed to achieve consensus within the team regarding this variant. According to them, the electoral mixed system is transient and it is better than the existing one since the 3% threshold is introduced.
