The Parliamentary Committee on Sector Economy and Economic Policy has once again disapproved the amendments to the law on Public Broadcasting.The members of the committee discussed the initiative today in the third hearing, however, the MPs unanimously rejected the initiative of the Public Broadcaster.
The Sector Economy and Economic Policy committee is the leading committee that gives the broadcaster the right to publish advertising on the amendments initiated in the Parliament. In the first hearing the amendments were disapproved by the Leading Committee, although the parliamentary majority approved the law in two hearings at the session.
"The committee had a negative conclusion, I hope that this position will be maintained. I hope that the leadership of the committee and members of the majority together with the opposition will actively raise the issue that this bill will not be adopted, "- Giga Bokeria said.
Davit Chichinadze, a member of the Georgian Dream faction does not support the bill on broadcasting. Chichinadze hopes that if the majority will adopt the law , the president will use the veto.
