Alavidze and Kumsishvili questioned - Prosecutor"s Office is looking for millions

The warning of the Prosecutor"s Office to Zurab Alavidze and Dimitri Kumsishvili - according to the Courier, the investigative agency prohibited the former Minister of Infrastructure and former Vice Prime Minister to leave the country. The reason is the questions towards them.

It is about the investigation that is going regarding the abuse of the official authority and misappropriation of large amounts of money.

The investigative agency has already questioned Dimitri Kumsishvili and Zurab Alavidze. They spent several hours in the prosecutor"s office and after the departure the explanations were not made with the media.

Former Vice Prime Minister and former Minister of Infrastructure spread only a written statement in which they confirmed the interrogation and said that investigators were interested in tenders.

The series of interrogations will be continued with other high officials of the Ministry in the Prosecutor"s Office. However, the former head of the Road Department, Giorgi Seturidze is ready to answer questions.

Prosecutor"s Office is looking for millions unreasonably spent on road rehabilitation at the Ministry of Infrastructure, and in the Ministry of Economics, which funded various projects. It is about "Produce in Georgia" and other similar projects, when at the decision of the Ministry concrete businessmen received assistance. If two former ministers are convicted, they will face 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.
