Ivanishvili stepped back - Omega group tobacco factory has now started working. Omega started paying tax debts and paid one million Lari.

Yesterday, the founder of Omega Group, Zaza Okuashvili announced press conference and invited journalists to Iberia TV premises. However, the press conference was delayed twice, naming technical problems as the reason of the delay and later the press conference was cancelled.

It’s a fact that right before the Election Day Zaza Okuashvili wanted to say something that forced Ivanishvili to step back. It is possible that it was the tape where Bidzina Ivanishvili requests paying 4 million from the businessman.

Existence of the tape was partially confirmed by Ivanishvili when during the meeting with journalists he said he had met Zaza Okuashvili twice and his security personnel did not check if businessman had hidden recording gadgets or not.

Authorities are saying they already started solving the problems with the company [Omega]. Georgian Dream leaders did not revile Zaza Okuashvili today in their statements, however, before that there was a cascade of insults towards the businessman.

At this point it is unknown when TV Iberia, which was shut down due to Omega’s financial crisis, will start broadcasting. However, Nato Chkheidze [wife of Okuashvili and MP] claims that Iberia TV will definitely renew its broadcasting.
