The European Commissioner for the Neighborhood Policy, Johannes Hann, met with Mikheil Saakashvili and Grigol Vashadze at the European People"s Party Summit in Helsinki. The conversation was related to the presidential election. Information and photos about the meeting were posted on Twitter by Hann. The Commissioner notes in a comment that he had a good meeting with Saakashvili and Vashadze.

"For the EU it is clear that the second round of presidential elections in Georgia should be free, fair and transparent," writes Johannes Hann.

Grigol Vashadze also held meetings in Helsinki in the European Parliament with Manfred Weber, leader of the People"s Party, which may become the European Union`s presidential candidate in May 2019.

Another meeting of the presidential candidate of the opposition was held with Junker Hawkmark. The main topic of the meeting was the presidential election.
