The Georgian Prime Minister, Mamuka Bakhtadze, responds to a noisy statement by the former president of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, where she spoke about the violations revealed during the presidential elections.
According to the Prime Minister, the Georgian government is conducting the elections in compliance with the highest standards.
"Elections, which are going to have, will be held in compliance with the highest standards ... I returned from Brussels a few days ago and this is the best message, I think about the success of Georgia"s democratic transformation. Georgia has been recognized as the most successful country in the Eastern Partnership, "- Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
The Prime Minister criticizes the opposition for critical statements and says their assessments affect the country"s image at international level.
"In my opinion, when we talk about national interests of Georgia and of course the national interests of Georgia are first of all our integration into the EU and our integration into NATO, those who put question marks in ths regard, and here I mean Georgian politicians, do the worst to their homeland by such irresponsible assessments, "- said the Prime Minister.
Former president of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, in an interview with the Georgian Bureau of the Voice of America said that the ruling team was using the administrative resources very disproportionately in favor of a single candidate.
Rasa Juknevičienė believes that the promise of paying off debts for the population of Georgia is bribery of voters.
