Nika Rurua, the member of UNM was found dead in his house. Presumably, a heart attack has caused his death.

Nika Rurua"s political career begins in 2001. After the 2003 Rose Revolution, Rurua became a member of parliament of Georgia.
On December 9, 2009 Nika Rurua was the Minister of Culture, Monument Protection and Sport of Georgia.

After the August war, Nika Rurua, together with the President Mikheil Saakashvili, was the initiator of removal of Stalin"s monument in Gori. Rurua initiated the Museum of Soviet Occupation in Georgia.
