Time limitation of investigation of Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s case to be increased by 5 years- the decision was made by the ruling team. In this regard, the relevant amendments are already ready for the Criminal Code of Georgia and will be initiated on Monday in an accelerated mode.
According to Eka Beselia, Chairperson of the Committee on Legal Issues, the amendments on increasing the limitation period on grave crimes for five years will be considered in an accelerated manner next week.

According to the amendment, the investigation will not have an obligation to terminate Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s case.

"The sons of ex-president Zviad Gamsakhurdia are still on a hunger strike. Therefore, we made a decision to make amendments to the Criminal Code to extend the limitation period of grave crimes for five years. Hence, the investigation will not have an obligation to terminate Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s case. I hope our colleagues will support these good amendments. The change will apply to all kinds of grave crimes. However, first of all, the motive for the amendments was Zviad Gamsakhurdia"s case”, Eka Beselia said.
