The Russian Patriarch threatens the world Patriarch. Cyril wrote a letter to Bartholomew and called the process of granting autocephaly for Ukraine a political adventure. The Russian Patriarch writes that Patriarch Bartholomew will put an end to his authority in the orthodox world by encouraging separation in the Church of Ukraine. Cyril calls on the world Patriarch to stop the process because he believes it is not too late. The decision to grant autocephaly will be handed over to the head of the Ukrainian Church in Istanbul on January 6 by the World Patriarch.
