TBC Bank Case - founders will talk at today"s sitting of Finance and Budget Committee

The founders of "TBC Bank" will talk today at the sitting of Finance and Budget Committee, but there will not be the President of the National Bank. Koba Gvenetadze did not want to attend the committee, nor was he invited by the committee. Consequently, the opposing sides will not have to face each other"s arguments.
The opposition will have questions on the controversy between the ruling team and the TBC bank. The "National Movement" is convinced that the government is putting pressure on the bank.
"Whether they had any covert negotiations with this government and what is actually related to their expulsion from their own bank. They have talked about many topics openly and we are looking forward to get the information about the situation further. We assess this as direct pressure on business, and this is a serious political issue, because it concerns the port of Anaklia, "said Roman Gotsiridze, a member of the UNM.
The European side also focuses on the political side of the case.
"Only now they are looking into the case, while Khazaradze and Japaridze have already been charged in money laundering. This fact clearly indicates the political nature of the issue and that in this case the National Bank and the Prosecutor"s Office are jointly operated by Bidzina Ivanishvili, "-Zurab Tchiaberashvili said.
They deny the allegations in the ruling team and accuse the opponents of arranging a political show.
"This is an ordinary case and there is no reason to politicize it because the Georgian Dream"s handwriting is not political pressure on business. I call on the opposition not to stage another performance, "said Irakli Meurunishvili.
The Prosecutor General"s Office launched an investigation into the legalization of illicit income against TBC Bank, while "TBC" stopped the court dispute with the National Bank and agreed to pay 1 million GEL, but Khazaradze and Japaridze will continue the legal dispute independently.
