A Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia does not confirm the information about the amendments in the government. Irakli Kobakhidze says that he does not see the need for personnel changes at this stage.
"I do not see such necessity. The government has just been formed . I think that it is not necessary but I will repeat that this is the Prime Minister"s prerogative, "Kobakhidze said.
Reportedly the Prime Minister will present a new composition of the government. According to media reports, the amendments will concern the ministries of economy, education and justice.
The Justice Minister does not deny an information about her designation. She confirms that there is a disagreement over certain issues, but negotiations are underway.
According to Courier, the relationship between Tea Tsulukiani and the government was strained on the issue of prisons. The penitentiary system is now under the supervision of Tea Tsulukiani, but she does not really control it. It is reported that the prisons may be established as an independent agency and the penitentiary service will no longer be under the Ministry of Justice.
