The history of Georgian parliamentarianism is 100 years old. On the occasion of this day, the reception was held at the Youth Palace where the independence of the country was announced in 1918 and the first meeting of the First Parliament of Georgia was held on March 12, 1919.
The Parliament Chairman spoke at the event and stressed that despite political differences, political forces are united around one of the most important things, this is the future of Georgia.
"Despite political confrontation, as well as just a century ago, political forces have a common and purposeful goal - Georgia"s freedom, independence, democratic development and full integration with the Western world. Today"s political differences are absolutely insignificant compared to our common goals and the interests of Georgia"s future, "said Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Parliament.
