"UN Human Rights Council Resolutions are one of the most effective mechanisms" - Ketevan Tsikhelashvili

State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality has responded to the resolution adopted by the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the resolution is one of the most important mechanisms for the international community to be informed about the situation in the occupied territories.According to the State Minister, it is also important to take effective steps to enable international human rights instruments to come into effect.
"The United Nations Human Rights Council"s resolutions are one of the most effective mechanisms for the international community to be regularly informed about the human rights situation in the occupied territories.I assure you that regular use of these instruments is vital, "- said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
"Cooperation with Georgia" - The resolution under this title, which concerns the occupied territories of Georgia, was adopted by the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.The Council reaffirms support of Georgia"s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and recognizes the efforts of the Government of Georgia in terms of democracy, rule of law and human rights in the country.The Council expresses its concern over the difficult situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and stresses the need for monitoring mechanisms in these regions.
