" It has principal importance for NATO that every nation has the possibility of making a choice," - states the NATO Secretary General.
On a question, if Russia will be able to interfere with Georgia"s NATO integration with its actions and position, the Secretary-General states that Georgia will become a member of NATO when the 29 member states and Georgia itself makes this decision.
According to Stoltenberg, no country has the right to interfere with the decisions of the independent state.
This right, according to Stoltenberg, is guaranteed by the Helsinki Protocol, which is signed by Russia as well.
"I"m sure the NATO members and Georgia will decide when Georgia will be ready for joining," Stoltenberg said.
