Opponents of the government think that the government does not take appropriate steps to maintain a visa-free regime. The Minister of Justice confirms the existence of problems. Tea Tsulukiani made a statement after the meeting with the European Commission representative.
According to the minister, there are problems, which should be solved with a negotiation with the EU. In the case of increased migration or a threat to society, the EU legislation envisages the mechanism of suspension of visa-free travel, but the opposition imposes full responsibility not on the citizens but the government and calls for effective steps.
"The government threatens visa-free travel. They do nothing to protect people from becoming illegal migrants,"- said Davit Bakradze, one of the leaders of European Georgia.
