US Embassy issues a statement on Vaziani Military Base .The statement says that there is no plan for construction of an aerodrome at this stage.
"Currently, there is no plan of building a US military airfield in Vaziani, the United States is proud of its partnership with Georgia in defense and security and believes that it helps to achieve our common goals through its form and content," the Embassy said in a statement.
Georgian authorities do not hurry to deepen partnership with the American side. It is clear that the expansion of Vaziani military base has been halted for 1 year already.The founder of the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center (GSAC) Nodar Kharshiladze responded to the topic of the US military base and said that the government is artificially hindering the process.
