The trial of Irakli Okruashvili was closed

The trial in Irakli Okruashvili"s case is closed in the City Court. The judge then closed the case when Okruashvili had to appeal to the court and say what he thought his detention was linked to.
Judge Maka Gvelesiani, who closed the process despite the high public interest, was appointed by the Supreme Council of Justice in 2017 as a life-time judge.
The former Defense Minister was detained a month and 5 days after Gavrilov"s night on the charge of participating in group violence.
Irakli Okruashvili"s lawyer Mamuka Chabashvili disagrees with the motion of the prosecution, which requires the detention of his client. According to the lawyer, there is no evidence based on which Okruashvili should be sent to pre-trial detention. According to the lawyer, if the judge decides to use any kind of preventive measure, the defense side will offer a bail of 10 thousand GEL.
