The Georgian delegation has not attended the opening of the Autumn Session of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) in protest and solidarity with Ukraine.

The protest is related to the decision made by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe regarding Russia’s return to PACE. Because of this the delegation of Ukraine to the PACE has officially refused to participate in the PACE’s autumn session.
Members of delegations of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Ukraine have not attended the opening session as well.
"The reasons why the membership of Russia were suspended have not been lifted and therefore we think that this decision by our partners was not justified. Only because of this reason and only at the first session we decided that our delegation would not participate in it", - said to “Kurieri” the Head of the Integration Committee of the Parliament of Georgia Tamar Khulordava.
