The permission for clergymen in Davit-Gareji monastery complex - the President released a statement

The President of Georgia has commented on the admission of clergymen to the David Gareji Monastery. On the official website of the President, Salome Zourabichvili writes that she welcomes the result that followed the Prime Minister"s visit to Azerbaijan.
“Given the national interests and history of the two countries, the opening of the churches in the Davit Gareji Monastery for the Georgian community is another step towards resolving the issue of Gareji complex and the border demarcation.
Azerbaijan is our strategic partner and I am convinced that as a result of joint efforts, the two countries will find a solution that are in the best interests of the two friendly countries", - wrote Salome Zourabichvili.

Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at a Government meeting that churches in David-Gareji will be opened to Georgian clergy from October 11.
