Blocking goes beyond peaceful manifestation - Talakvadze accuses opposition of destructive actions

Archil Talakvadze, the Speaker of the Parliament, calls on the opposition for return to the normal political process.

He recommended oppositional leaders to use possibilities granted by the law, namely, committee hearings and faction meetings instead of “staging protests with padlocks” at state institutions.
“Blocking and picketing of state buildings do not fall within the frame of the right to peaceful assemblage and manifestation and represents the law violation on which the reactions follows by the state. Normal political processes and preparation for the 2020 parliamentary elections were in the interest of the country and Georgian interests”, - concluded Talakvadze.
