A 54-year-old man died in a fire in the village of Varkhani, Adigeni Municipality.

According to locals, the building where the man lived was wooden and the fire spread rapidly. The man was apparently asleep during the fire.

3 firefighter crews were working on the place.

The investigation was launched by the MIA under the 3rd part of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia - damage or destruction of an item resulting in loss of life or other serious consequences.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
