The Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates St. Nicholas Day.
The festive service will be held at Sioni. The Divine Liturgy will be held by the Patriarch of Georgia. It will start at 10:00. Solemn services will be held in all functioning churches and monasteries.
The IV century Greek Bishop Saint Nicholas of Myra, known as Nicholas the Wonderworker, is one of the Greatest Saints for both Orthodox and Catholic Christians. The first church, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, Kintsvisi Monastery was built in Georgia in the beginning of XIII century. There are five churches in Tbilisi and three Monastery Complex in the other regions of Georgia, dedicated to Nicholas the Wonderworker.
