Reports saying that famous Nikoloz Basilashvili has been paying a significant amount of money to his ex-wife are baseless. Such a statement made the lawyer of Neka Dorokashvili, Ana Abashidze.

“Information saying that Basilashvili paid his wife GEL 100 000 is false. This is just an amount that Neka got lawfully after their mutual property was shared. Dorokashvili agreed to get much less as she did not want to enter into conflict and pursued the children’s interests. She was ready to come to an agreement. A total of GEL 15 000 has so far been paid to her”, - explained Ana Abashidze.

The lawyer of Nikoloz Basilashvili, Irma Chkadua, said that if the accusation against tennis player was not confirmed in court, they would start a legal dispute to repair the tennis player’s damaged reputation. She ruled out violence from Basilashvili against his ex-wife.

“If the accusation against Nikoloz Basilashvili is not confirmed and he is found not guilty, we will start a dispute both in Georgia and abroad to repair the damaged reputation of Nikoloz Basilashvili”, - concluded Chkadua.
