Germany: Russia does not make significant contribution to the investigation into Khangoshvili case

Russia does not make a significant contribution to the investigation into Zelimkhan Khangoshvili murder case. Such a statement released by the German Ministry of Justice.


“German government agencies contacted the Russian authorities at least 12 times from August to December 2019 to obtain information on the case.


Besides, in December 2019, Germany formally applied to Russia twice for legal aid. The last response from the Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia was received on June 2, 2020, but he did not make a significant contribution to the investigation”, - reads the statement.


Khangoshvili was killed in Berlin on 23 August 2019. The Berlin Police arrested 48 years old Russian citizen on suspicion of killing.
