No matter where we are - in Batumi, Tbilisi or elsewhere, we have to observe the social distance and wear masks. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia during the Government meeting.
“Yesterday we had an increase in the number of cases of infection - 38 cases. Today we have 20 new cases, which, of course, need to be paid attention.
It should also be mentioned that 7186 tests were performed in Georgia yesterday and we will have the results in the second half of the day, which will show us the epidemiological picture better.
We all must understand that the global pandemic is a challenge that we will probably have to face for the next one year, or a year and a half. We all should understand that the main task of the Government now is to properly manage risks. No country, including Georgia, can defeat the global pandemic alone, because it is a global challenge and risk. We must do our best to protect the health of our citizens.
We need to pay attention to the demands of epidemiologists, no matter where we are - in Batumi, Tbilisi or elsewhere. We have to observe the social distance, we have to wear masks not formally, but as epidemiologists and doctors recommend it, and we must take care of the health of our citizens, older people and children.
The relevant ministries - the MIA, the Ministry of Health and local municipalities – have been tasked to further tighten control over the implementation of the legislative requirements. First of all, this concerns wearing masks in indoor space and social distancing. This is necessary to maintain achievements and achieve more success”, - concluded Giorgi Gakharia.
