After negotiations via a video call, Minister of Defense of Russia, General Sergey Shoygu and Minister of Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar signed a memorandum on the creation of a Russian-Turkish joint ceasefire control in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The memorandum lays down the objectives and principles of the joint monitoring center. It states that the center will collect, generalize and verify information about maintenance of the ceasefire regime and other actions for violation of the reached agreements by the parties.

The center’s objective will also be to record violations by viewing, using unmanned aerial vehicles and assessing data obtained from other sources and will be deployed in the territory of Azerbaijan
