Fire at Khopa market in Batumi is extinguished

The fire at Khopa market has been extinguished. According to the Emergency Management Service, no one was injured.

“112” center received information about smoke observed on the Khopa market. Emergency management personnel arrived at the scene as soon as possible. The fire got spread in a clothing store, there was danger of spreading to nearby shops.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in the one-story building. 7 groups of the Fire and Rescue Department worked on the spot.

According to the Director of the Market, the reason of the fire is not determined yet. Traders managed to remove some goods. The amount of the inflicted damage is not calculated.
