Three years have passed since Georgian citizen Archil Tatunashvili died in unclear circumstances in occupied Tskhinvali region.
He was detained by occupying forces on February 22, 2018. The next day, Tskhinvali media reported that he “died because of heart-related problems”.
The body of the 35-year-old Tatunashvili was delivered to the territory, controlled by the central Government of Georgia 26 days later with his internal organs removed and injuries on his body.
In September 2018, Interpol issued a red notice for the two individuals, David Gurtsiev and Alik Tabuev, who were charged with the murder of Tatunashvili. However, they have not been detained so far.
