The Public Defender of Georgia Nino Lomjaria responds to the arrest of Nika Melia:

“Nothing more shameful could have happened on February 23, 100 years after the loss of Georgia’s independence and the USSR taking over than the raid on the office of the opposition party and the arrest of the leader of the opposition, which will inevitably lead to alienation of Georgia from the Western world just like Soviet Georgia.

Probably, this is the goal. The Government, blinded by hatred towards its citizens, thinks that demonstrating force is a success, while not a single vaccine has been imported into the country, prices are rising, and people are on the verge of starvation”, - said Nino Lomjaria.
