According to preliminary estimates, the economy of Georgia shrank by 11.5% in January

According to preliminary estimates, the Georgian economy shrank by 11.5% in January 2021.


“In January 2021, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, a decrease was observed in the following activities: construction, transport and warehousing, manufacturing, accommodation, arts, entertainment and recreation, real estate activities, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply , wholesale and retail trade; repair of cars and motorcycles”, - said the Executive Director of the National Statistics Office Gogita Todradze.


At the same time, he added, growth was observed in the areas of information and communication, financial and insurance activities.
