The officers of Kakheti Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative-investigative activities detained I.K. (DoB 1982) on the charges of attempted premeditated murder and illegal purchase-keeping and carrying of a firearm.

The committed crime envisages from 7 to 15 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that on May 5 of the current year, in the village of Akhalsopeli, Kvareli Municipality, the accused person wounded his acquaintance - MP (DoB 1982) with an automatic firearm on the basis of conflict and fled the crime scene. The injured citizen was transferred to the hospital where he is undergoing appropriate medical treatment.

The law enforcers, as a result of operative-investigative activities carried out on the hot trail, arrested I.K. few hours after the incident in Kvareli municipality.

Police seized automatic firearms as evidence.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of the attempted premeditated murder and illegal purchase-keeping and carrying of firearms under Article 19-108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, as well as Article 236, Parts III and IV.
