New legal initiatives and organizational matters discussed at the Bureau

In accordance with the Constitution of Georgia and the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, the autumn session of the Parliament will open on September 1. Prior to the commencement of the plenary sessions, a meeting of the Parliament Bureau was held, where new legislative initiatives and organizational matters were discussed.

The Speaker of the Parliament congratulated the Bureau on the opening of the autumn session and wished them success in their work.

"A number of legislative novelties are scheduled to be discussed during the autumn session. Alongside the bills currently under consideration, various major reforms are also being developed. We have the opportunity to use the autumn and spring sessions to work on the adoption of the planned legislative initiatives. Important visits by parliamentary committees and friendship groups are planned. Accordingly, we should use the autumn session period to maintain the pace of parliamentary diplomacy. As for committee activities, it is welcome that during the summer period the committees used the time for meetings and off-site sittings in the regions. The committees also have every support from the Parliament and the Speaker in this regard", - said Shalva Papuashvili.
