After 34 years Tengiz Abuladze’s film “Repentance” will return to the Cannes International Film Festival After 34 years.

According to the Georgian National Film Center, the film will be presented in the “Cannes Classics” section, which has existed since 2004.

In this section, they show films previously screened in the Film Festival program. This time, those films will be screened in a restored digital format.

The world premiere of “Repentance” took place in Cannes in 1987. The film won 3 awards at the Film Festival.
