According to Kurieri, businessman Vladimer Vakhania was killed in Ganmukhuri. He has fatal wounds inflicted with a knife.

Vakhania was at home in Ganmukhuri when he was attacked by a familiar person with a cold weapon. A worker found the body of the murdered man on the territory of a hotel under construction belonging to him.

The alleged accused in the murder has already been identified. The murder is reportedly linked to a dispute over business shares.

Vladimer Vakhania did business mainly in Russia. He was arrested in 2009 for obstructing journalistic activities. Vakhania has participated in Zugdidi mayoral elections in the past.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation under the Article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
