5 people were detained near the 20th polling station in Zugdidi. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all of them are arrested under Articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to the police and petty hooliganism).
A verbal and physical confrontation took place between a member of an organization affiliated with the United National Movement and representatives of the Georgian Dream.
Zugdidi mayoral candidate from the Georgian Dream Mamuka Tsotseria accused the United National Movement activists of staging provocations.
The clash started after the UNM activist Giorgi Mumladze called Tsotseria’s supporters separatists.
Besides, Giorgi Mumladze told reporters that representatives of criminal groups near the polling station confronted him only because he did not have a Megrelian surname.
