Olympic champion Zurab Zviadauri, charged with premeditated murder, has been released on GEL 50 000 bail. Such a decision was made by the Telavi district court.

According to the Prosecutor, he killed 27-year-old Nika Kenchoshvili after the latter killed Zviadauri’s brother in Tsinandali.

Claiming it was not a premeditated murder as he was forced to shoot in defense, Olympic champion was detained a day after 3 individuals, including his brother, were killed and 2 were injured in the counter shooting on August 16.

If found guilty, Zurab Zviadauri may be sentenced up to 15 years in prison.
