Within the framework of the NATO Defense Ministerial in Brussels Georgian Defense Minister met Chair of the NATO Military Committee.
Juansher Burchuladze thanked Admiral Rob Bauer for support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and the country’s NATO integration aspiration.
He remarked that NATO’s open-door policy is of utmost importance amid Russia’s increased military aggression in the region. The parties also spoke about Georgia’s participation in strategic discussions and the international peacekeeping missions.
Burchuladze also talked about the transformation process of the Georgian defence system, emphasizing the “active cooperation” with NATO and strategic partners for strengthening the country’s defence capabilities and “building NATO-compatible defence force.
Parties also discussed the upcoming 2022 NATO-Georgia Exercise which will take place in Georgia in March with the involvement of over 20 member and partner countries.
