The Tverskoy Court of Moscow recognized Meta as an extremist organization and banned the social networks Instagram and Facebook. These resources were already blocked in Russia by Roskomnadzor.

WhatsApp is not affected by the court decision. This messenger will not be blocked in Russia.

A representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office explained in court that users will not be held accountable for using Meta products (Facebook and Instagram). The agency demanded in court only a ban on the activities of Meta and the materials distributed by this company.
