The European Court of Human Rights has registered the case of Tbilisi Pride and others v. Georgia for consideration.
According to the information spread by Tbilisi Pride, the case concerns the events of July 5 - 6, 2021 - large-scale and organized violence by violent groups against the organizers of the March of Dignity and LGBT activists.
“The applicants pay special attention to the inaction of the state for the prevention of violence on July 5, impunity of organizers of the violence, ineffective investigation of the crimes committed and non-recognition of affected persons as victims by the Prosecutor’s Office. It is important to restore the applicants’ violated rights and hold the state accountable for its inaction. The interests of Tbilisi Pride are defended in the Strasbourg Court by Georgian Democracy Initiative”, - reads the statement.
