Salaries of civil servants will increase by at least 10% every year until 2026 – Prime Minister

Salaries of civil servants will increase by at least 10% every year until 2026. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“We will have more funds to be distributed among agencies and more projects will be financed. It also allows us to increase wages for public sector employees.

There had been virtually no increase in public sector wages until 2020, which I think was a big mistake. The gap between private and public sector wages is too large and needs to be addressed.

In January, salaries increased by 10% for all civil servants. This will be followed by at least a 10% increase every year until 2026, which will amount to a total of 50% increase over the next few years.

This dynamic needs to be maintained, we have good initiatives that we will start from September. I want to emphasize the importance of the stability that the Georgian Dream has maintained during this period”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
