European Parliament adopted a resolution regarding the draft law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence”

The European Parliament adopted a resolution a joint resolution “On efforts to re-introduce the ‘Foreign Agents Law’ in Georgia and restrictions on civil society”.

425 deputies supported the resolution, 25 were against it. 30 abstained.

The mentioned resolution talks about the revision of the visa-free regime and the request to sanction Bidzina Ivanishvili.

The draft resolution was presented by 5 parliamentary groups. During the vote, several amendments, initiated by MEPs Anna Fotiga and Urmas Paet, have been added to the draft.
